First livestock purchases

The LIFE Montserrat has completed the purchase of a flock of 92 celtiberic goats that will soon start grazing in the mountains between Collbató and Esparreguera, a strategic area for fire prevention in the south-eastern part of the project area. This is only the first of several livestock purchase operations necessary to improve herds of holdings involved in the project. The next step will be the purchase of 18 cows to strengthen one of the few herds already operational in the northern part of the project area.
It is foreseen that during the next few months new livestock purchases will take place progressively to allow the introduction of grazing activity in all the strategic areas.
