Project presentation to local governments

The project feasibility relies on the understanding and support received from local community. On the basis of this approach, a presentation event was organized in the Abbey of Montserrat to which all municipalities in the Montserrat area were invited in order to provide first-hand information and get them involved with the project. The event took place in December 2014 and it was attended by mayors of most of the villages in the Montserrat surroundings, regardless of whether the actions of the project should be developed within their municipality’s borders. They are all aware that forest fires know nothing about administrative borders, so local coordination becomes essential in devising fire-fighting strategies.
