27 November 2014
Project technicians programmed a field visit on 27th November 2014 in order to examine the areas in which main forestry actions and prescribed burnings should be conducted. The execution of some actions ahead of schedule allowed them to evaluate the results. The landscape transformation towards lower tree and bush densities should enable livestock activity in the area and, later on, a mosaic of habitats should be created and maintained where both forest and grasslands are well represented and habitat diversity becomes enhanced. This target landscape, with much lower fire load, will also contribute to achieve another project’s main objective: preventing forest fires.
