The construction of a new farmyard has been completed during the autumn. It is located in El Mimó, a public property owned by Vacarisses Town Council in which a new livestock holding will soon start its activity with the support of the LIFE Montserrat project.
The new infrastructure is made of wood as a measure to improve its landscape integration. Water collectors have been installed on the roof to make an effective use of rainwater and thus preserve groundwater resources by reducing water consumption from the existing well.
This farmyard will be used by a herd of goats that should be arriving in El Mimó in February 2018. The animals will start grazing a wide strategic area between Vacarisses and Olesa de Montserrat.
