School visits in the project area

During this 2017-2018 school year several primary and secondary schools from the project area will visit some of the sites hosting LIFE Montserrat activity as a measure to raise local awareness of the project.
School visits will take place in two different sites: Can Maçana, in El Bruc, and El Mimó-Puigventós, in the area between Vacarisses and Olesa de Montserrat. Both sites are good for the students to get in touch with some of the main project conservation actions such as forestry work, use of prescribed fire, new open areas and livestock activity.
Field visits are included in the educational proposal launched by the project that is currently being implemented in 18 primary and secondary schools within the project area. The first programmed school visits took place last week. Until June 2018, over 1300 students will participate in these field visits.
