The Association of Livestock Farmers is already operational

The Association of livestock farmers is a key element to the appropriate development of the project. Once it has been created, partnership agreements and grazing contracts between farmers and forest owners can be signed as a previous step to the effective grazing activity in selected fire prevention strategic areas.
This new alliance between farmers will ensure unity of action, shared objectives and mutual collaboration and it will enable them to maintain a fluid relationship with other actors involved in the project.
Main land management actions promoted by the project rely on either the Association of Farmers or the Association of Forest Owners. Thus, appropriate communication and relationship between both associations becomes critical to achieve the project objectives, especially in the long term, beyond the financial support of the LIFE Programme.
